If the scanner is not recognized by your computer, try running the Fix It utility provided by Microsoft. It is a free program developed to solve all major USB related issues. If it doesn't help, right-click on the Computer icon, select Manage and open Device Manager. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers list, right-click on the driver and select Uninstall. After that, reboot your PC, connect the USB device and press Scan for hardware changes icon from Device Manager. Windows should automatically find and install the drivers.
